Teaching is about learning. Learning subject matter has many different forms. As a teacher I understand what is necessary to reach all of the students in my class. During the year I feel that there is a direct connection between quality of the teaching and the performance of the student. It is important for the teacher to know when to change plans, when to work with students having difficulties, and when to enrich the lesson with extra material. There are many techniques that make for a successful teacher. These may be as varied as the teacher themselves. Being constantly aware is necessary for all the students in the class to have a successful experience. My goal for third grade is to provide a creative and stimulating curriculum which fosters independent thinking in an atmosphere of cooperation and respect. May 2010 Third Grade Religion – Mrs. Quinn will talk about Paul becoming a leader and a master builder. Math – We will be learning about perimeter, area and dividing with 2 digit dividends. Reading – We are reading Runaway Ralph with follow up comprehension questions. Social Studies – We will study our land today. This will include day and night, phases of the moon, stars, and constellations. English – Pronouns – in the subject. Pronouns and verbs. Object pronouns.
