| The Teddy Bear Pre-K class which they must be 4 by Sept. 1 This class is
academic developmentally structured program. The Pre-k room will help
develop the many skills needed for kindergarten. They will begin to master skills
that they have been exploring. They will be exposed to phonics through Zoo
phonics, a program teaching sound-symbol relationships using animal
relationship to sound, while using exciting body movements. They move from
cooperative play to organized play. Independent work is emphasized. There are 24 children in the classroom with 2 teachers and a teacher’s assistant. |

| The Superstar class is developmental and introducing the academics to the
children. The Superstar room will foster independence and self-confidence by
giving the child opportunities to challenge themselves and to master new skills.
Your child will develop knowledge on a broad range of subjects as we grow
through the year with our weekly themes. Woven through each day will be
activities that help the child develop number and counting concepts, science
exploration, and language development through exposure to the written word and
activities that teach pre-reading skills, (such as sequencing, left to right projects,
and writing down the children’s stories). In some ways, the children will guide the curriculum. If they show an enormous interest in a certain topic, we may change our plans for the day and let the children follow their curiosity and explore their interests The children range from 3 1⁄2 to 4 1⁄2 years old. There are 18 children in the classroom with two teachers. |

| The Busy Bee class is also developmental and introducing the academics to the
children. This is the child’s first experience of school so our focus begins with socialization and language development. The Busy bee room is for children who
are developmentally older two and younger three years old. The children start
the year by learning to separate from parents, learning to use words to resolve
conflict, learning to play with their peer group. By January, they are ready to
learn more cognitive concepts such as shapes, colors, and numbers. There is a
great deal of growth and development in this year - particularly in the areas of
language development, social skills and self-awareness. The children range from 2 1⁄2 to 3 1⁄2 years old. There are 12 children in the classroom with two teachers. |
