Chapel at RHLS

Every Friday morning, our school family gathers in the sanctuary for something more than just a weekly service, it’s the heart of our community. Chapel is where we pause to reconnect with God, celebrate each other, and grow together in the values that define RHLS: Love, Respect, and Responsibility.

It’s a tradition that brings students, staff, and families together in a way that leaves a lasting imprint, on hearts, minds, and spirits. Families are always welcome and we encourage you to join us for this special tradition!

Student-Led Worship: Faith in Action

Our chapel follows the Lutheran worship model, and it’s the students who bring it to life. From lighting the altar candles to reading Scripture and prayers, leading praise songs to managing sound and visuals, our Chapel Assistants take an active role in every part of the service. Each grade from TK through eighth grade rotates the responsibilities of chapel assistants. It’s a meaningful opportunity for students to serve and grow in leadership and faith.

Message: The Good News

Each chapel features a message from Pastor Ken or a guest speaker, grounded in Scripture and written with students in mind. These messages connect the Gospel to daily life, encouraging kids to live out their faith in big and small ways, both inside and outside the classroom.

Shout Outs: Celebrating Values in Action

Throughout the week, students are on the lookout for classmates who show exceptional Love, Respect, and Responsibility. These stories are shared during chapel in a moment of joyful celebration, reminding everyone that small acts of kindness and courage matter, and that we all play a role in building a loving community.

The Roars: Let's Get Loud

Chapel gets loud, in the best way possible, thanks to The Roars, our middle school rock band. These talented students bring joy and energy to our services with classic hits that make chapel fun and memorable.
